Graphically the game has improved over its predecessor and one of the really impressive effects is the water levels, where you can see great reflective waves splashing up and down. Sapphires are easy to win, but gold means you are one speedy bandicoot and platinum are only achieved by those who are true masters. Relics can be awarded as well, these consist of three different colours sapphire, gold and platinum. There are gems (including five coloured ones) to collect as well which can be obtained by destroying all of the crates or searching in hidden areas. These powers can help you to tackle some of the really difficult levels later in the game. Each boss you defeat gains you a new power and unlocks the gate to the next chamber.
